Fashion brand launches with 100% transparency policy

A fashion brand has launched with what it claims is a 100% transparency policy in a bid to prove its sustainability credentials right down the supply chain.

The brand known as Honest, which launched last month, claims it is the first company in the world to share the full cost breakdown of its products by revealing every production detail of every garment, from the origination of fabric to the amount of store mark-up.

On its website, the company states: "The word 'honest' refers to the way in which the Honest by store operates. Those we collaborate with share their personal production information from yarn and button origin to fabric and manufacturing details; information which Honest then communicates to the client."

Honest says it conducts extensive research into the different aspects of the product production process including raw materials sourcing and fabric origination to provide full transparency.

The company also claims to verify the working conditions in the production facilities used for every product. And on a personal level, garments stocked with Honest take into consideration the wellbeing of the clients skin.

Materials used in the garments are either certified organic, recycled, or procured from sustainable sources. The company adds that it wants to "shed light on the questions - where is it made and by whom".
