Polyester and ebonite linings protect against corrosion

Ceilcote linings from KCH Keramchemie are now being used in the Middle East to protect desalination equipment against corrosion.

Corrosion protection at a desal plant in Dubai involved lining the interior of all seawater intake lines and deaerator vessels with a glass flake polyester coating and lining the evaporator channel head boxes with ebonite rubber.

Throughout the Middle East region, desalination plants are essential for the provision of potable water for both irrigation and domestic use. Plants process seawater in deaerators and flash evaporator units to produce fresh water. The environment in the seawater intake lines, deaerator vessels and flash evaporator units is extremely corrosive to carbon steel, so some form of protection is critical.

KCH Keramchemie's product range comprises industrial corrosion protection, sealing systems, and pickling and acid-recovery plants for the surface treatment of materials.
