Sustainable Business magazine to put on conference
For the first time SustainabilityLive! will play host to a conference focusing on how the environmental agenda is shaping business.Across the board, carbon and related issues are an increasingly important part of the corporate landscape - and this is not just the case for the environmental industries.
With this in mind, Sustainable Business (SB) magazine has joined forces with SustainabilityLive! to put on a free three day event at the show.
"There's a gap in the market to have a live version of what we're trying to do with the magazine," said SB editor Tom Idle.
"We want to offer a snapshot of environmental policy and best practice in a conference format."
Mr Idle said that each day the conference would focus on different areas to allow delegates to focus on the issues most relevant to their business.
The first day looks at policy drivers and voluntary drivers, the second at the business opportunities emerging through the sustainability agenda and the third will consider the practicalities of cutting carbon.
"We're hoping it's going to give an overview for all different types of practitioner, from the boardroom level through to facility managers," said Mr Idle.
"If you want to keep up with the latest policy developments then you need to be there.
"But there's also a chance to network and learn from other companies that are doing good things in this area."
Organisers have managed to secure some big names for Sustainable Business - the Event, with Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change Ed Milliband opening the conference through video address and senior representatives from corporate giants such as Microsoft, BT and Eurostar will be sharing their wisdom with delegates.
