The climb was to raise funds for the Children's Safe Drinking Water Program, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Water for People's Playpump Technology.

The group made the 50 mile trek to the top of the 19,340 foot mountain in the seven days they expected to, despite a snow storm slowing them down.

Grammy nominated musician Kenna, who was born in Ethopia but raised in America, led the climb.

From the top of the mountain, he said: "Water is the pivotal issue of the entire world.

"It is more important than anything we could ever focus on, it is the root of life, we are one, we are water, without it we die.

"People are dying every day from dirty water. More than die by Malaria, AIDS and War combined."
