Schwarzenegger to attend COP15

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he will attend the Copenhagen climate change talks.

The talks, which get underway next week, will hear a speech from the Terminator actor.

He said: "I'm also going overseas to Copenhagen and will be part of that big conference over there and give a speech over there, to make sure that we move the agenda forward.

"But even though we are taking all of this great action and doing everything that we can, we must also be prepared if climate change continues to worsen.

"Scientists tell us that temperatures could rise an additional seven degrees during this century.

"One study estimates that $2.5trillion of California assets are threatened by climate change.

"Think about that, this means our highways and certain buildings will be threatened."
