In this week’s European business news in short, Vestas wins the jackpot with an order potentially worth as much as €309 million for its wind turbines.


Danish wind power company, Vestas, has announced that it has received an order worth DKK0.5 billion (€67 million) from the United States for 175 wind turbines, with an option for a more than 650 additional turbines. The order, which could be worth as much as DKK2.3 billion (€309 million), has been placed by FPL Energy LLC, North America’s largest developer, owner and operator of wind powered generating plants.
