Malaysia plans to increase environment budget

Despite poor economic performance, the Malaysian government plans to almost double its environment budget next year, according to report in The Star.


Science, Technology and Environment Minister Datuk Law Hieng Ding said the proposed increase (from RM142mil to RM265mil) move showed that , Malaysia continued to play an important role in preserving the environment, says the report.
