News Release: Scottish Water orders new stainless steel filter packaged unit

PUK have obtained an order to manufacture for Scottish Water a stainless steel filter packaged unit comprising two inlet rotating drum filters from their new range of fully automatic micro filtration machines.

These are fitted into and form part of the chemical mixing tank. All skid are mounted and produced as a single unit in the factory at which time all motorised inlet valves, tank drain valves and backwash pumps etc. are fitted. The whole is then despatched to the Backies Golspie Waterworks site as a completed factory tested item. This filtration unit is installed as pre-filtration of an upland water prior to membranes. The new treatment works as an unmanned fully automatic PLC station.

A typical PUK stainless steel packaged type micro filtration unit is used for the micro-filtration of river water, reservoirs or boreholes, the polishing of final sewage effluents before discharge into river or the sea and for the re-cycling and cleaning of process water and industrial effluents of Pulp and Paper Mills, Saw Mills, Breweries, Dairies, Fish Farms, etc.
