Lobby your MP, lobby your potential MPs on green business agenda.
Despite apparent cross-party support for the green agenda, the General Election still brings the risk that progress towards a low carbon economy will be disrupted, says Adrian Wilkes.
Mr Wilkes said that somewhere in the region of 200 new MPs would be filing into Westminster after the election, and it is important to make sure they are up to speed on the environmental industries when they get there.
The best will in the world would not make up for a lack of relevant knowledge and Mr Wilkes said that he and his team would be busy approaching Prospective Parliamentary Candidates in the run up to the election to make sure they had the facts needed to make informed choices when it came to policy and legislation affecting the sector.
Proper regulation would present opportunities for those businesses that positioned themselves to benefit from it, he said, but it was important to make sure that the transition to the new government, whatever its political make-up, did not slow down progress being made.
