An Edinburgh-based company will plant a tree for each delegate attending this year’s Envirenergy conference in Manchester to help offset the event’s carbon footprint.
Carbon Offset Scotland will plant about 350 trees in Scotland in a bid to reduce the environmental impact of the event, which will be held at the Old Trafford Stadium on March 11.
Director Angus Crabbie said: “If I wanted to give a tree the best possible chance of surviving for its natural lifespan, then I would plant it in Scotland, in a controlled and planned environment.”
The native species will be planted on a farm near Comrie, in Perthshire.
