With the UK on lockdown and edie readers working remotely or on furlough, this brand new series of video interviews keeps you connected to the inspirational business leaders who are continuing to drive sustainability and champion climate action from their own homes.

#SustyTalk is all about keeping edie’s loyal readers connected to sustainable business leaders across the world, whilst reminding us all that sustainability and climate action must go on, through the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Today, edie’s senior reporter, in her first #SustyTalk after her return from furlough, catches up with BT’s head of sustainability policy Gabrielle Giner.

During the discussion, Giner details how and why BT has launched its innovation platform and fleet alliance at a time when the majority of working Brits are either working from home or on furlough.

“I find the discussions with policymakers, business and civil society around the green recovery quite encouraging and exciting,” she summarises.

Giner also provides advice for sustainability professionals who, like herself, class networking, public speaking and participation in forums as a key part of their role. Giner has notably represented BT at the COP summits for several years and, after the last meeting, penned an exclusive blog for edie on her observations
