Investors offer backing for enviro-tech

News in Brief

A new investment fund will be ploughing more than Euro 50 million into up-and-coming companies providing environmental technologies and services in Europe.

The Environmental Technologies Fund is the latest in a growing number of funds launched to invest solely in this area.

Its creation is further testimony to the confidence that financial analysts and venture capitalists have in the future of the environmental sector.

The fund manager intends to raise a further Euro 150 million to invest in clean technologies.

Unlike similar funds, ETF is the first of its kind in Europe to be backed exclusively by established financial institutions.

We hope to publish a more detailed look at the fund and its likely impacts on the industry in next week's edie news.
