Oxegen 'to be Ireland's largest carbon neutral event'
This year's Oxegen festival is to be carbon neutral, it has emerged.
Ways in which to reduce the amount of CO2 produced at the festival, as well as the offsetting of unavoidable emissions, are being assessed in conjunction with the CarbonNeutral Company.
According to the Oxegen website, the concerts - taking place from July 11th to 13th - will represent the largest zero carbon event the country has ever seen.
Oxegen spokesperson Justin Green commented: "We believe that Oxegen's fans are passionate about environmental issues and that this initiative will inspire them to reduce their own carbon footprints."
Meanwhile, the first ever cycle park is to be opened for fans attending Radiohead's concerts this weekend at Malahide Castle.
