WEEE Ireland rolls out recycling scheme with retail chain

WEEE Ireland, the waste electrical and electronic equipment compliance scheme, has teamed up with Expert Hardware stores to launch a consumer-facing recycling initiative.

Throughout the month of July, 34 Expert Hardware retail stores across Ireland are encouraging customers drop off their used batteries, bulbs and electrical goods for recycling to their nearest outlet.

Those that do will receive a 10% discount on like-for-like purchases. According to WEEE Ireland, the initiative will not only encourage people to play their part for the environment, but will also support local Irish retailers.
