Formerly known as the Big Recycle, the UK’s annual drive to encourage the public to think more about what happens to their waste has been renamed this year and is to be known as Recycle Now Week.
The campaign, which has always been co-ordinated by Recycle Now, sees local authorities, businesses and community recycling schemes up and down the country ratcheting up their individual efforts to promote recycling and presents a co-ordinated face as myriad schemes link up under the same banner.
It is also notable for its success in persuading celebrities to endorse recycling, with past supporters including sports presenter Gabby Logan, former England footballer Graeme le Saux and impressionist Alistair McGowan.
The initiative will begin on June 1 this year and more information will soon be available on the Recycle Now website.
