BP Amoco to launch group-wide emissions trading scheme Jan 2000
BP Amoco is to launch an internal emissions trading scheme across its global operations on 1 January 2000.
According to CEO, Sir John Brown, the scheme is a central tool to achieve the group’s commitment to a 10% greenhouse gas emissions reduction from 1990 to 2010. BP says that theirs will be the first ever global greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme actually put in place.
The company will use a cap and trade scheme, details of which are provided in an Adobe Acrobat file linked below (requires Acrobat Reader).
