Environmentally-friendly lithium batteries

Research at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M., to improve the cathode portion of the lithium ion battery may lead to a rechargeable, environmentally-friendly electrical battery capable of powering electric cars or replacing traditional lead-acid batteries.
