Nigel Marven wants to teach your children about Earth Day.
On April 22, Earth Day, TV Naturalist Nigel Marven and his charity, www.healthyplanet.org is asking children to participate in a mass lesson to help create a healthier planet.Teachers of Y1 - Y6 can download the free lesson plans from the Healthy Planet website, www.healthyplanet.org/earthday.
Healthy Planet is offering these lesson plans to all primary teachers in the UK, free of charge. Designed by a team of leading teachers and reflecting the national curriculum, each lesson contains all the resources and plans required.
All the teacher needs to do is set aside an hour or two on April 22 to join in the mass lesson with thousands of other children and schools.
"I am proud to be launching Healthy Planet's Earth Day initiative which provides free lesson plans for primary school," says Nigel Marven.
"It helps children to learn about the world they live in whilst inspiring them to make healthy changes. It's fun, interactive and ticks lots of boxes on the curriculum. I'm enthusiastic about the use of our resources in schools to help build a future generation of conservationists that I hope will one day include my daughter."
Your students can learn about the importance of trees and forests from Rosy the Tree or discover where their rubbish really goes when they throw it away.
Each lesson has been designed around an interactive, fun activity to teach children the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling.
