World's second most powerful wind farm opens
A wind farm with the second biggest renewable energy capacity in the world has opened this week outside Cuenca in Spain.

Spain's new wind farm will help the government to meet Kyoto targets
A spokesperson for the Spanish utilities company said in a statement: "Iberdrola is totally committed to clean energy, in line with the responsibilities taken on by Spain when it signed the Kyoto Protocol and the European Directive on Emissions Trade."
Iberdrola has set its target investment for expanding clean energy production at €4,300 million between 2001 and 2008, by which time it aims to manage over 6,000 MW at its plants. It currently produces around 2,664 MW per year.
Florida Power and Light is the only company in the world that generates more clean power than Iberdrola, which has seen a rise of 18% in megawatts of sustainable energy production over the last year. The renewable energy produced by this Spanish power company is generated mostly by wave / hydroelectric and wind power.
