Awards for Environmental ExcellenceThis event is the first to recognise and reward the expertise in the field of consultancy that guides the most significant environmental policies and actions in the UK and beyond. Winning one of these awards gives a company or project a touch of kudos which sets it apart from its peers, making it stand out from the crowd and even acting as a unique selling point. It also gives staff a justifiable feeling of pride if the quality of their work is recognised by those outside the company. The 2008 awards for environmental excellence will be held at a first class awards dinner at London's Natural History Museum on Thursday 13 November 2008. The awards are split into two distinct categories - judged awards and voted awards. The judged awards invites entrants to put forward their projects to be considered by an expert panel - here it is not the size and the reputation of the company that is likely to clinch victory, but the individual merit of the project. Small consultancies with a project they are particularly proud of have just as much chance to take the prize as the major players who select their strongest projects from a bigger portfolio. The categories for judged awards are: Confirmed judges include Dr Liz Goodwin, chief executive of WRAP, BRE director Dr Peter Bonfield, the Tyndall Centre's Prof Peter Stansby and Prof Tom Stephenson, head of applied sciences at Cranfield University, and Chris Smith, chairman of the Environment Agency. The voted awards invite clients who use the services of environmental consultancies to voice their opinions on the strongest companies and give an insight into who has the best reputation in each specific field. |
