Computer recycling effort proves feasible

Recycling computers is preferable to disposing of computer monitors as hazardous waste and then landfilling the rest, a USEPA computer recycling program in California has shown.


Using a Chinese recycling facility, the net cost for the recycling program was $9,493. The cost of disposing of the monitors as hazardous waste and landfilling the rest was around $35,000.
