Business commitments to tackle plastic waste have been made from the likes of Sky, McDonald’s, the Co-op, Costa Coffee, the BBC and Waitrose, with each commitment posted on edie’s Mission Possible Pledge Wall, which was launched towards the end of September.

The Mission Possible Plastics Hub is a new, dedicated section of the Mission Possible microsite that will host content related to business action plastics. The Mission Possible Plastics Hub will encourage businesses to commit to new and measurable actions on plastics, while also enabling edie to track progress of existing plastic pledges.

CALL to ACTION

Commenting on the Mission Possible Pledges, edie’s content editor Matt Mace said: It’s great to see so many high-profile businesses reaffirm commitments to tackling one of the biggest issues currently facing the planet.

“I sincerely hope this encourages more companies to submit new or existing targets to the Pledge Wall and provide updates on their progress against them.”

The elimination of single-use plastics, the replacement of plastic packaging with biodegradable alternatives, and consumer incentives to avoid plastic waste are among the 100+ sustainable business commitments that now appear on the Mission Possible Pledge Wall, which was launched as part of edie’s new sustainable business campaign at the end of September.
