Razorback provides transport solution for Cleanaway

A leading waste management company has added the Razorback ground-loading vehicle to its fleet to give operators greater ease of use. The Razorback ground-loading vehicle is now being used to collect and forward clinical waste for Serviceteam, a subsidiary of Cleanaway in Redruth, Cornwall. The ground loading system eliminates the need for trailers, forklifts, tail lifts or ramps, when transporting clinical waste.

Razorback technology enables the vehicle floor to be fully lowered to ground level. This ease of access means that Serviceteam is now able to push clinical waste straight into the Razorback. By not having to climb on the back of the vehicle or balance the container trolleys on tail lifts, loading is much quicker and easier for operators.

The convenient and safe loading system of the Razorback also substantially reduces the risk of Serviceteam staff sustaining manual handling injuries.

Razorback’s ground loading reduces damage to the wheels of Serviceteam’s container trolleys. Being a light commercial vehicle, it is also ideal for getting around the country lanes of Redruth, where accessibility has previously caused problems for larger trucks and lorries.

“After a nine month trial of the Razorback, it was so well received by our depot that we decided to purchase one,” commented Steve Washburn, National Fleet Manager of Cleanaway. “The benefits of not having to use a tail lift make it an excellent investment, so we are now looking to purchase more Razorback’s for other areas,” he added.
